Instructions
Classic Crust Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 425oF.
  2. Line 9” glass pie pan with one of the pie crusts.
  3. Pour pie filling into the crust lined pie pan.
  4. Top with second crust.
  5. Crimp or seal edges with a fork.
  6. Cut several slits into the top crust to allow filling to vent.
  7. Brush crust with beaten egg, sprinkle sugar over the top of the crust.
  8. Place pie on a cookie sheet and bake for 40 minutes or until crust is golden brown. If necessary wrap edges of crust with 3” wide strips of aluminum foil.
  9. Remove aluminum foil once pie has finished baking.
  10. Allow pie to cool for 60 minutes before serving.
Lattice Crust Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 425oF.
  2. Line 9” glass pie pan with one of the pie crusts.
  3. Pour pie filling into the crust lined pie pan.
  4. Lay remaining pie crust on a flat knife safe surface.
  5. Slice crust into 1” wide strips using a sharp knife or pizza cutter. Ideally you will need 12 strips of crust.
  6. Lay the longest strip across the middle of the pie. Take half of the remaining strips and arrange them in the same direction as the first strip with approximately ½” space between each strip.
  7. Turn the pie a quarter turn and lay the remaining strips at a right angle directly over the first strips creating a grid (lattice) pattern. There should be filling visible between the strips.
  8. Crimp or seal the top crust strips to the bottom crust with a fork.
  9. Brush top of lattice crust with beaten egg, sprinkle sugar over the top of the brushed lattice crust.
  10. Place pie on a cookie sheet and bake for 40 minutes or until crust is golden brown. If necessary wrap edges of crust with 3” wide strips of aluminum foil.
  11. Remove aluminum foil once pie has finished baking.
  12. Allow pie to cool for 60 minutes before serving.
Tips:
  1. Pie pans vary in size. It may be necessary to use a little less filling depending on the depth of your pie pan. Leftover pie filling is great on waffles, pancakes or over ice cream.
