Serves: makes 6 dozen
  • 1-1/4 c. Western Family Powdered Sugar
  • 1 c. (2 sticks) Western Family Margarine or Butter, softened
  • 2 egg yolks
  • ½ t. almond extract
  • 2 c. Western Family All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 c. Western Family Bite Size Frosted Shredded Wheat cereal, crushed to ½ C.
  • 1 t. Western Family Baking Soda
  • ½ t. cream of tartar
  • Western Family Powdered Sugar
  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. Beat powdered sugar and margarine until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add egg yolks and almond extract. Beat until well blended.
  4. Add flour, cereal, baking soda and cream of tartar. Beat until well mixed.
  5. Shape rounded teaspoons of dough into ¾-inch balls. Roll balls into 2-inch ropes; shape into crescents.
  6. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten slightly.
  7. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set (cookies will not brown).
  8. Cool; roll in powdered sugar.
