  • 1 c. Western Family 2% Milk
  • ¼ c. Western Family Honey
  • 2-1/2 t. Western Family Yeast
  • ¼ c. Western Family Butter, melted
  • 2 egg yolks, beaten
  • 4 c. Western Family Bread Flour
  • 2 t. Western Family Salt
  • 2 T. Western Family Granulated Sugar
  • 2 T. Western Family Honey
  • ½ c. Western Family Butter, melted
  • ⅔ c. Western Family Powdered Sugar
  • ½ t. lemon peel, finely chopped
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Warm milk and honey slightly. Add yeast and let stand until foamy.
  3. Blend in melted butter and egg yolks. Transfer mixture to large bowl.
  4. Blend together bread flour, salt and sugar; add to yeast mixture. Mix until mixture forms dough.
  5. Knead dough until smooth, about 10 minutes.
  6. Place dough in a large, oiled bowl and cover. Place bowl in a warm place until dough doubles in size.
  7. Punch down and form into 12 evenly sized balls.
  8. Make a ½"- ¾"cut into center of the ball from one side to make the heart shape. Place on a greased cookie sheet.
  9. Cover loosely and rise until doubled in size.
  10. Bake rolls until golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.
  11. While rolls are baking prepare glaze: combine honey, melted butter, powdered sugar and lemon peel.
  12. When rolls are removed from oven, liberally brush with glaze.
  13. Serve warm.
